Who is KAWA for ?
Everyone.
If you snore, have trouble sleeping, wake up with a dry mouth, or want to boost your workouts — try KAWA. Trust us. Actually, we considered ourselves pretty good at breathing through our nose—until we tried KAWA, and realized there was a whole world of air out there that we didn’t even know we were missing. But if you do have a history of allergies, sinus infections, a deviated septum, or anything that makes it difficult for you to breathe, KAWA may help greatly.
Will the tabs actually stay on overnight or when I’m sweaty ?
Yes. KAWA was originally designed for motocross and high-intensity athletic sports, where sweat, movement, and helmets make adhesion tough. The tabs are built to handle those conditions—and they can also stay on reliably through a full night’s sleep.
For best results:
- Apply to clean, dry skin (no lotions, sunscreen, or makeup).
- Wipe the area with a little alcohol or wash and fully dry.
- Press the tabs firmly in for 10–15 seconds.
With correct placement, the tabs stay secure during workouts, runs, and even all-night wear.
Will this make my nose permanently bigger ?
No. KAWA is an external nasal dilator. It temporarily supports the nasal valve to improve airflow while worn and your nose returns to baseline when removed. Only surgery or trauma can permanently change nasal soft tissue or cartilage.
Why Nasal Breathing?
Why should I wear this?
Breathing exclusively through your nose has been scientifically proven to be superior to breathing through your mouth, particularly during strenuous exercise. So why have we all heard “in through the nose, out through the mouth” (also, why do we all still breathe through our mouths anyway) ? Because, for most people, exclusively nose-breathing during increased heart rates wasn’t possible before KAWA. During sharp nasal inhales, our nostrils suck themselves shut, making comfortable and sustainable breathing extremely difficult. KAWA keeps your nose open, ensuring you can breathe deeply without strain, giving you access to all the oxygen you need. It’s a humble improvement on human evolution, if we do say so ourselves.
Why magnets ?
No, they're not just shiny
The magnetic aspect of KAWA is simply the best way we could find for the product to hold on to the nose without being a single strip (like a common nasal strip). We tried velcro and all sorts of things to keep the rigid band stuck on the nose, but we found that it's actually vital to use magnets. The two magnets on the end of the band attract to the dome shaped disc inside the Tab creating two points of contact on either side of your nose. This allows the magnets to hold tight, while creating a sort of 'floating' property about the Band. The nose moves a lot more than you may realize, so we needed the Tabs to stay stuck while the Band was able to 'float' on top of them. Trust us- we put a lot of thought into this little thing!
I have sensitive skin. Is the adhesive safe?
Yes. KAWA pads are made with medical-grade materials that are designed to be safe for skin contact. The adhesive is latex-free and hypoallergenic.
What about for my workouts ?
Absolutely !
Nose breathing during activity is more important than you may think. Nose breathing has been proven to boost oxygen absorption, lower your heart rate, optimize performance, and so much more. KAWA is suitable for the vast majority of sports, activities, and training regimens. We designed KAWA specifically with both athletes and the average gym-goer in mind, and we’re happy to say that we hold up exceptionally well for everything from football to yoga to motocross. The only sports that might compromise Intake’s wear time are those with substantial facial contact, such as grappling or boxing, and water sports. What is the Shelf Life of KAWA Breathing Products?
All KAWA Breathing products have a 2-year shelf life from the date of manufacture. That means you can store them unopened and unused for up to two years without worrying about loss of effectiveness.
Here are a few tips to help maximize product longevity:

Will it hurt or feel uncomfortable ?
No - Unlike nasal strips that pull on the bridge of your nose, KAWA works differently:
- External only: Nothing goes inside your nose. The band and pads sit gently on the outside, so there’s no internal irritation.
- No bridge pressure: Because it anchors to the sidewalls of your nose, you don’t get that tugging or pulling across the bridge that many strips cause.
- Customizable fit: KAWA comes in different sizes, and you can choose how wide you want to open your nose. That means you control both the airflow and the comfort level.
